Well, I went to pay my water bill only to discover a 1,044$ balance on the account. We had a leak on our property that was really bad and had to be fixed by a plumber. I know I won't have to pay the full amount, but goddamn was it a shocker to see it lol. My usual bill for water is about 60 bucks.

Well, a.) it's not my property so if I get stuck with the bill by the city guess who's landlord is getting a call. b.) that was a major leak, not me leaving a hose on, they have provisions in my town for cases like this. I'll just have to call the city on monday, get the plumber who serviced the leak to send in the cause and solution to the problem, and probably get my landlord to place in a call as well.

That sucks. Been in the same boat. My city only charges what they pay for the water when it happens. $800 down to $425 and they let me pay it out.
Still a shocker when you find out.

My neighbor is going to be in for one of those bills. There must have been water running from under his house for 2 weeks.
