They will just act like the roots of the original hops plant, no genetic traits will be passed from the MJ roots to the Hops plant.
Sorry it just can't be done. But Hops is only grown by a small amount of farmers. Something like 26 families supply all the domestic Hops. So I guess you could say it is rare in a way. I would suppose their personal "strains" are protected for certain flavors obviously.
You can graft multiple strains into the same mother though, now that's some shit, 6 or 7 different colas...
