“You see this glass bong?” asks Achaan Chaa, the Thai meditation master. “For me this glass is already broken. I enjoy it; I smoke out of it. It holds my water admirably, sometimes even reflecting the sun in beautiful patterns. If I should tap it, it has a lovely ring to it. But when I put this glass bong on the shelf and the wind knocks it over or my elbow brushes it off the table and it falls to the ground and shatters, I say, ‘Of course.’ When I understand that the glass is already broken, every moment with it is precious.”[/quote]

it actually might be something that's better indoors with some cfls I would think. the sun might encourage it to grow a bit too much I think

I can't confirm it, but I couldn't see why it wouldn't work. Like harry suggested though, it would grow at a much faster rate under the sun. I would assume you would just need to tend it more frequently so it doesn't grow outta wack. I'm gonna give it a go as well, in doors though. It would be interesting to see a bonsia mum outside.

Bonsai mothers are completely different than the plant in the pic. The beauty of the plant in the pic is the small root system.

I don't understand the allure of bonsai-like plants, is it just the novelty aspect? A bonsai mom is one thing I guess, but flowering one just seems like a monumental waste of energy. Vegging weeks if not months longer and using more nutes doing it should not result in smaller yields. As my old coworker used to bluntly say "You're doing it backwards"
