Nice trip, I love asparagus as well. Filet mingnon is certainly delicious and all, but definatly not my favorite cut of beef. Ever wonder why you have to wrap those little bastards in bacon in the first place? It's because the filet will dry out without it because it has so little internal fat content & hardly any marbling. The lack of fat also means less flavor. So next time you're checking out beef in the grocery store, pick the cut with the most abundant and even marbling, it makes a difference.
In my opinion, the ribeye is the king cut of beef. Notice the abundant lines of fat running throughout the cut, this is marbling, and the key to a great juicy fucking steak. grade A prime ribeye here costs about $15/pound so you get what you pay for as always.

Thats a shame, my girl gets wet whenever i cook up a steak dinner or take her out for one which is rare. i defiantly dont eat a shitload of steak or anything, just a few friends in the culinary field.

Yes kobe/wagyu beef is delicous, and personally it is best enjoyed raw. my best experience with it was at a local italian joint, Carpaccio Nostra Moda: Thinly sliced prime Wagyu beef topped with Dijon mustard, baby arugula, radiccio, crispy capers, parmigiano regiano and cold pressed extra virgin olive oil.
Once again, the reason these japense cuts of beef are so delicous is due to the extreme marbling.
