I should have had more like 4,800 but I had quite a bit of debt and old bills I had to settle first

Fortunately I can have internet and cable installed at my apartment before the Cowboys/ Vikings game this weekend

yah, i did the same thing too, now I'm wishing I had saved some of it.  If I were you I would stash away from your refunds the amount of interest your loans accrue for the semester.  So if you loans accrue 800 bucks worth of interest over the semester I'd sock that away.  That way, when it comes time to actually pay that shit back, you'll be far ahead of the game.

Trust me when I say being 80,000 dollars in debt with no money is not fun at all.  I have to attend school this semester just to defer my loans for another 6-7 months.  Kinda funny having to spend money to save money lol.

I will definitely save as much as I can. Just nice to always have a rainy day fund but considering I am still unemployed and only have about 1100$ left, Im not sure how long it will last

I need to find a fucking job

At least I now have internet and cable service turned back on at my place

I'm on Debate/Forensics Scholarship.
+poor family. I get the Max Pell grant amount. I also am at a Community College.
My Church gives me 1,000 a year to (10,000 if I go to a 4 year church college.) I did a lot of charity work with my church.

If I go to a in state college I should be able to go without loans all the way until I start work on a masters degree.

I am thinking about exploiting a law here. Where if you get this special loan for being a education major the state pays it off after you work for 2-4 years for you. But I might not even need it.

It's taking me 3 years to get my associates though because I'm a fuck-up. (But my GPA is still at a 3ish)

I am also a work study at the college; for my debate coach.

and IF I do need to get loans at the 4 year college I am planning on, I will need under $10,000 in loans from the 2 years I will be there.

No, actually I went to a state school.  Cost of my tuition plus the gov't cheese came out to around 40 k.  Unfortunately my fater has been out of work for quite some time and hit some severe financial troubles.  So, to help him keep the house and get by, I signed up for an additional 40K worth of loans so he could get some wiggle room.  Things are still tough and he's still struggling, so that's why I'm now again back in school.  I need to defer those loans for another 6-7 months so that he can get shit sorted.

It's not the best situation, but this is my family.  My dad provided me with things I needed growing up, took care of me the first couple of years I moved to go to school, so I can't say no or turn my back.  Money is money, it comes it goes, but it always will be there and there will always be ways to earn it.  It is a lot of money, but at least half of my debt will be taken care of by my father at some point.  I've never had much money my whole life so this is not anything new to me

Yea I am not looking forward to paying back my loans when I graduate although as long as I get a job when I am done I should be able to pay it back relatively quick.

lol yeah fuck paying so much for school. There is no reason why school should cost as much as it does. And there is no reason that books should cost so much either. It always pisses me off paying for something that I'm only going to use once, then try and sell it back for nothing. So gay. Today I dropped 400 dollars on books and I only bought 2. I still need 2 more......:kingcrankey: The government sure does like to rape college students in the ass hard.

Yea. The worst part is the same books are made with cheaper materials and sold in other countries and bookstores can't buy said cheaper books and sell them in the states.  It's bullshit.

I am excited to graduate and get a job making a shit ton of money when I start. :woot:

Yeah really, if I was a professor I would just print out study guides or copy the book and give them to students, and then tell them not to buy the book.

Yea I love when my profs just put up PDFs of chapters of a book so we don't have to buy them.  The worst though is when the books you have to buy are written by your prof and you barely use it.  Fucking professional scam artists I tell ya.
