Mixing it with tap is just fine. And you don't have to use distilled water in hydro.

Thanks! And i was just saying because most of my friends who prefer growing hydro also prefer distilled water? Something about being god and controlling EVERYTHING the plant is given. ha IDK

I think the benefit to using distilled water when mixing nutes is that it will start with a low PPM. This allows you to add more nutrients before reaching the PPM threshold that your plant can handle. I just use tap that has sat out for 24 hours to rid it of chlorine, and I don't have a TDS/PPM meter either, but I do use FF Grow Big. I have never used (or needed) more than 1.5 tsps / gallon Grow Big. 1 tsp/gallon is too much for some plants, and 1/2 tsp/gallon is perfect for 6-10 inch seedlings.

Good advice on the dosages. Those for soil?
Also, I wanted to reiterate that (as far as i know) de-chlorinating water used with organic nutes is extremely important due to the sensitivity of the microbes which allow nutrient uptake.
