note- i'm still messing around with this recipe so this is just something basic for now.
One pork butt
vinegar
crushed red pepper
salt and pepper
ketchup
brown sugar
there a lot of other things you can use for a rub, such as celery salt, onion powder, salt and pepper, dry mustard, paprika, etc. etc., but i haven't tried a rub yet with this recipe. going to soon though.

mix about 2 cups of vinegar, give or take, with 1 1/3 of a cup of water.
eyeball ketchup, brown sugar, crushed red pepper, salt and pepper (black and white pepper if you got it, if not, just black.)
mix all that shit. be generous with all of them if you like flavor. also, depending on the size of the butt, i usually use about a 5 or 6 pound pork ass.
i usually go off taste as well, and see whether or not i need to add more of this or that. gotta be careful though, especially with the vinegar in this one.
cook on LOW for about 5 or 6 hours in a crock pot. when you can pull the meat apart with a fork with no effort at all, it's done. it's really good with some coleslaw too.

That recipe sounds good. I need to try something new with more flavor to it. All I do is dump bbq sauce in the croc pot and let'ah brew for the same amount of time you stated.

1/3cup brown sugar 1Tbsp cayenne pepper 2Tbsp salt 2tsp powered mustard 1tsp granulated garlic 1tsp fresh thyme
rub that on ANY pork and go, its specially tasty on ribs

right on, sometimes i even rub a bunch of straight up french's yellow mustard on it as a base layer, then add all the dry seasonings so they stick
