Seems like alot of guys start indoors, a couple months before last frost and transfer outside... It doesn't actually look that hard, it's just a matter of having a yard or someplace to grow enough to be worth your while...
It seemed like the hardest part was drying, curing, preserving etc.... That shit can take months, and it seemed easy to fuck up... Using kilns to dry, braiding, stacking and bundling leaves, and shredding all seemed like a pain in the ass... But ultimately worth it...
I'm growing some turkish tobacco, it is still very young. The hardest part is nurturing them while they are very small. If you have ever grown cacti from seed, they are sort of like that, only they germinate much quicker. Surface sow, and keep moist ALL THE TIME. Its taken them SO LONG to sprout just 4 leaves, but I have them in a small tray outside. Had to make room indoors...
They like to be watered regularly, like marijuana, and grow pretty fast and easy after they get to a healthy size. or so I read..
I grew a virginia type strain outside in a big pot, and brought it in the house for the winter, it seem to do ok -- now it is 6+ feet tall and flowering.. soon it will be warm enough to take outside! Hopefully it will get large! Anyone ever done this?
