 Ultra Sun Bulbs  1

I started using these just to test them since they are very cheap and wanted to see what they can do. They are rated about 5000 lumens less then the Hortilux bulbs but I haven't found this to be the case. Every time I break out the meter the Ultra Suns are brighter. My yields haven't gone down a bit and I liked the bulbs enough to switch all my grows to them.

Funny! That's the exact same bulb I picked up when my hortilux went missing. It was 60 dollars cheaper too. The width of the bulb kind of surprised me when I first saw it, I actually thought they handed me something that wasn't going to fit in my socket.
It fired up just fine and is working well. No complaints so far!

Do you have any recommendations on a lumen meter??

^yeah, that's a good question too. I read about them several months ago. I can't even recall the conclusions of that research.  I will toggle this thread next time I am in the market for bulbs.

Just how many grows is a bulb good for?

I replace after 3. But not because of lumen loss, color shift is my understanding happens first. I could be wrong on that.
