1. Are you growing from seed or clones? Seeds
2. How old are your plants? 4.5 weeks
3. How tall are your plants? 6 inches tall, but being tied down, VERY bushy
4. What size containers are they planted in? 2.5 Gallon
5. What is your soil mix? FF Ocean Forest
6. How often do you water and what type of water do you use? As needed, Tap water
7. What is the pH of your water? 6.5
8. What kind of fertilizer do you use and what is its NPK ratio? Bio-bizz 1.8-.1-6.6 and Roots Trinity Catalyst .1-.5-.25
9. Do you foliar feed or spray your plants with anything? No
10. What kind of lights do you use and how many watts combined? (HPS, MH, fluorescent, halogen, incandescent "plant lights") MH 1000 watts
11. How close are your lights to the plants? 18 inches
12. What size is your grow space in square feet? Room is 20x20' Plants have cardboard painted white around them to make an area of about 4x4'
13. What is the temperature and humidity in your grow space? 80 degrees Fahrenheit 35% RH
14. What is the pH of the soil? Haven't tested it.
15. Have you noticed any insect activity in your grow space? No
16. How much experience do you have growing? 5 years, multiple grows
So this plant is from seed. I have been seeing purple stems almost from day one. It is growing pretty well, maybe not quite as aggressively as I would like, but I wouldn't say it looks unhealthy by any means. It is very bushy and VERY Indica.
The other plants in my garden aren't showing signs like this one is. I have 3 plants from clone that are doing pretty well. And this ones seed mate isn't showing these purple stems any more.
So do you guys think this could be genetics or a P deficiency? I will put up picks as soon as it lets me. I keep getting an error message when I try to upload them.
Edit: After reviewing current pictures with pictures taken 6 days ago, I'm taking back the statement about it not growing aggressively. It has grown quite a bit in the last 6 days, I guess I'm just doling over it too much and it seems like more time has passed than it has.

So, the problem here is purple stems? Is that really a problem?

Well it's not normal at least. But yes, I guess that's the only concern, I worry because if it's just early stage of P deficiency then I want to make it it doesn't get out of hand.

It seems your ferts are lacking in the P dept. Might want to up that a bit. Also, are you using Superthrive? If not, I do reccommendo. It is not a fertilizer, but rather a vitamin/hormone supplement. I have heard it helps with nutrient lock and other issues. Revives "dead" plants, and makes healthy ones healthier. No reason to not use it if you aren't already.

Yeah, I was thinking of going down to the grow store tomorrow and seeing what they have. I've seen alot of people raving about Super Thrive, haven't looked into it but will.
The reason I'm asking the question though is that none of my other plants are exhibiting this. I have 3 clones about the same size that aren't showing purple stems, and the other seed I germed isn't either.

Are your temps fluctuating to the cold side at any point during the day/night? I believe that can cause general purpleness...
Otherwise that bush looks badass man...
Also, people are fucking proud of their superthrive. Prepare to pay like $2.50 an ounce for that stuff.

Nope, steady 80 degrees all day. There is no dark period for now. Apparently they don't sell Supertrhive in Oregon. Something about it being a non-labeled pesticide. Hopefully they can ship it here. I may not use it though. I have never had to in the past, and plants have done wonderfully.
