 why do people say joints make your lips black?

Whenever I talk to friends about bud, they tell me to not smoke joints because it makes your lips turn black. Wtf kind of myth is this lol? I smoked joints for a while...never noticed my lips getting black. But if it did make your lips black, couldn't you just wash it off...? Has anyone else heard of this?

Sometimes the resin leaks out the ends and you get brown resin/goo on your lips.... not usually if you roll it with a crutch though.

I didn't call them gay, but I called them stupid. Most of them are just week end warriors and its a rare thing for them to even get weed.

It's seriously the most disgusting taste in the world. If a bong has old ass water in it I will straight up refuse to hit it until it gets changed.

It tends to happen with some decent smoke. The last blunt I rolled was some Hash Plant, the resin was literally dripping off my lips and off the end of the blunt after the first hit. Had similar experiences with a few other strains but nothing like that particular strain.
