 Is longer than a week to sprout normal?

I put 5 seeds of Purple Skunk x Dutch Treat into jiffy pucks 6 days ago and there is no sign of sprouting. I know that it could take up to 7 days but its been 6 with nothing so I'm beginning to think I did something wrong. I used jiffy pucks with a different strain and all 10 seeds sprouted. The only thing I did different was soak the pucks by about 10 minutes longer.
Also, if nothing happens, can I take the seeds out and try again or are they ruined?

If they do not sprout after 7 days, the chances are very slim they will. If they do not sprout after 10 days, they won't sprout.
Why did you direct Jiffy Pot them? That is the least likely method to succeed and while some strains seem to handle it fine, other strains will not. You should soak them in paper towel or simply (best imho) place them all in a shot glass of water, cover with clingwrap and put in a dark place that is warm for 24 hours, then plant in medium.

cool will try that. i have always just used the paper towel. and I'm sure this is outdated so don't quote me on it. but i have always taken the first ones to sprout out cuz i have heard a long time ago that males usually sprout first and grow a little faster. but like i said that was 10 years ago, I'm just getting back to this again.

Well, it holds somewhat true that males GENERALLY grow quicker then the girls. But at that stage I'd say you're throwing away more good then bad. There's nothing wrong with keeping plants til you sex them, think about all the potential girls you may have tossed simply because they germinated quicker then the others.

Not worth the risk of throwing away a girl. Last batch I did, the slowest plant turned out to be male.
