So i was doing some yard work and weeding my flower bed about a week ago and i was surprised to find this little girl struggling for life under the flowers in my garden. So i decided to rescue it and try to get a lil something out of her.
I know that this is pretty much a no-no in the cannabis culture but i had to do what i had to do. I ended up pulling the flowers around her to give more light, but it wasn't working. The surrounding growth was to dense, so i grabbed my spade shovel and proceeded to dig her up. She was showing her first set of pistils at this time. So i carefully dug a good 6 inch circle around her, careful to not disturb the root ball and put her in a pot.
She has not shown any sign of stress, stunted growth, wilting, etc. And has grown a bunch in a weeks time! Since it was so short and would not expect much out of her, i tied her over to expose the bud growth to the sun and so far they have responded and are on the grow!
This obviously was one of the duck foot strains i started out with in the beginning of spring. I am guessing that it was one of them hard to germinate seeds i posted about months ago. I threw them into the garden just to see if they would ever actually grow. After about a 4 week period i gave up on them and really never check up on them anymore. However, this was the only one out of the small handful of seeds i threw out there!

Cool! They really grow like weeds. Hopefully you can get enough herb outta her to last a week or two.

Looks relative healthy.
Give her a go.
She might be a good smoke!

It will not give me much for sure!
But it was a pleasant surprise none the less.

So, you're going to keep it outdoors to just finish up in this year's season?
You could get a bigger plant if you went indoors.
But yeah, WTF, I wish I could just step outside into my backyard and find a healthy young cannabis plant chilling in the midst.
But I see in the 3rd pic that you are starting to LST it. Nice. You could get a nice little cannabis bush when you're done.

Yep, had to give her some kind of advantage to get what i can from her. Wish i would have come across it about a week or 2 sooner! Indoor is not an option for me at this time so everything i have been doing this past year has been outside. This little one will be taken out to the other garden where it will get a full days direct sun and finish her life with her sisters!

Nice!
Sounds good!
I definitely want to see the outcome. I like oddball grows. It just reminds me how hardy and durable cannabis really is.

The seeds i threw out there were probably 4 year old seeds with no germination rate to speak of, so i just tossed them into the dirt in my flower bed. I had acquired other seed from my local grower friends and started 20 seeds with 18 germinated. So after i started with this second batch i gave up checking the spot i threw the seeds. So like i said this was just a pleasant surprise!
