My friend has a small plant that until recently was just beginning to enter flowering under a 120 watt compact bulb. As stated, recently Friend got a hold of a nice little 150 watt HPS. My friend asked me if it's all right for him to revert back to vegetation under the new light even if the plant is just faintly starting to smell nice?

It's not a war on drugs, it's a war on personal freedom.
I would continue the flowering under the HPS for a couple reasons: 1) The light spectrum of an HPS is superior for flowering, but not as good for veg (even though its better than the CFL) 2) If its starting to flower and you reveg it, you run the risk of hermaphrodites
Finish that plant, and when you start the next one, use the HPS all the way through if that's what ya got.

I agree with 81. Keep in mind that when your flowering ends, if you leave a fair amount of fan leaves on your plant you can put it back under 24/0 and veg it over again. It will regenerate nodes and new growth will be visible in a week or two. It would be even better to leave a couple nodes on if possible.
