6.5 is good, being off-center won't do a lot of harm, and if you keep rotating the plant, you get a good strong stem too. I've never seen black and white poly anywhere but a hydro store, though I'm sure it could be found elsewhere.

sometimes they sell white poly in the paint section as a tarp to cover floors and furniture with. It's not the same thing as panda film, but I would expect it to work well enough

Paint works well too, it could be an issue of the plastic isn't thick enough. The white plastic painters tarp I get is always very very thin, I wouldn't consider this a (safe) reflective material I also doubt it being more reflective than white paint. Maybe the stuff you get is thicker.

I have been told titanium white paint is an ideal paint to use if you want high refelctivity paint, it's on par with the White/black poly which is 99% reflective...mylar is only around 94% and costs more. There is also a reflective metallic liner which blocks IR which runs about $130 a roll (a small roll at that). The best easy alternative is camping safety blankets, which are mylar but are not on a roll and as a result are all wrinkled and less reflective.

Scar420: You can get a roll of Mylar insulation at Home depot for 20$ The stuff is double sided with bubble wrap in between. I pulled the shit apart on a 25' x 2' roll giving me double the size reflection space. I'm cool with 94%.

I like it. But for absolute beginners you should also mention the necessity of fighting fungi or insects and the remedies which can use without harm for the grower and the consument. Like: -Are you aware that fungi or parasites can destroy your crop? -Have you informed yourself properly what to do about it, which remedies to use safely to fight back? -Do you know what a sulphur burner is and how to use it? -Have you informed yourself about fungicides and their side effects and how to avoid using them?

hi im new to the site & an absolute first time grower i want to start a grow tent in my closet something small maybe 1 plant flowering maybe another 2 or 3 Veggin & cloning and all times, for the flowering i was thinking a 250 watt MH & HPS lights would be enough. but i wanted an opinion for more experienced growers
also i plan on starting with plugs then transplanting to a 4x4 rockwool grow cubes after they are rooted & sprouted then moving to clay rocks with a dwc system after they are well rooted. does that sound like it is . functional? or would i have a higher risk of algea & bacteria on the cubes
