yes man, what magash said.
I suggest Lumatek or Galaxy I personally use Lumatek but Galaxy is supposed to basically be the competitor. I'm going to be trying the more expensive models by high yield lighting in the future.

i use a galaxy 400w digital ballast, can use both mh and hps. starts up softly which saves bulb life, its really quiet and stays cool enough to leave on my carpet. A++
-------------------- "and take me disappearing, through the smoke rings of my mind,
down the foggy ruins of time, far past the frozen leaves,
the haunted frightened trees, out to the windy beach,
far from the twisted reach, of crazy sorrow.
yes the dance, beneath the diamond sky, with one hand waving free,
silhouetted by the sea, circled by the circus sands,
with all memory and fate, driven deep beneath the waves,
let me forget about today, until tomorrow."~bob dylan

I also use a Galaxy 400w and love it. Cheap and efficient.

I use a 600w digital greenhouse HPS from HTGsupply
It's been quiet and does not produce much heat.
