logic's pretty cool. i'm still trying to learn all of it, but it comes with some cool synths and samplers like the es2 and exs-24.
it also comes with this thing called ultrbeat which is a pretty cool little drum synthesizer.
i never used pro tools but i guess all DAW's can get a little complicated at times

i'm not familiar with pro tools, i dont know if it comes with some kind of built in sampler, but some sort of sampler is pretty necessary unless your gonna be recording your own drum noises.
i'm thinking about buying one of these akai MPD24's http://www.akaipro.com/mpd24 and using it with the exs24 in logic for my drum patterns
