For some background info: unknown strain, been flowering for about a month now, but a lot of my leaves have been getting brown and crusty at the tips. Any thoughts?

Sounds like overfeeding or a hot soil.

Do you mean the soil is literally too hot? Cause the temperature usually stays in between 70-80.
More info: Each is potted in a 1 gal jug (no drainage), and besides the tips, the leaves have been getting a lighter green. As soon as I find the cord for my camera, pictures will be up.

For flushing should I just run water through it with a drainage hole?

By hot soil, i am guessing he was meaning you have some soil with fertilizers in it? To me it sounds as if you have to much nitrogen which is burning your leaves.
Also, you should have drainage holes in any container your growing in. Without drainage holes you could also have root problems like rot. What do you mean by having them in a gallon jug? is it a clear container? glass or plastic? This is adding up to alot of possibilities as possible problems.

I can see a lot of the roots on the bottom, not really from the side. And they are under 6 42 watt cfls.

ok, well first you need to cut some drainage holes into the bottom of the jugs. 3 half inch to one inch holes evenly spaced along the bottom should do. Then you need to get some black duct tape or gorilla tape and cover up that clear plastic. Roots exposed to light will kill them off. re cut the drainage holes through the tape so you have proper drainage. I still say your main problem is to much fertilizer though with no drainage. Then once you have done all the above stuff, flush them.

Oh yeah, lets put a stop to those plants burning now. They need to be flushed. For every gallon of soil pour 3 gallons of water threw the pots. That will remove your excess nutrients.
