I have been in to this kind of thing for awhile now and have been looking to develop my own system but haven't had the time really...This guy does a nice job documenting his setup.

I think I'm going to develop one for the growery...What do you think. I'll design it and give it away in a contest. I will probably add some more things but for the most part it will be just this...Though I'm not sure what the contest should be.

I really need some help in that department. Obviously controlling the fans, lighting, moisture sensor, testing the PH...I'm kind of stuck. I don't want to overcomplicate it but I want it to be a nice setup at the same time.
I want it to run smooth, fairly quick with few problems...So that documenting it with pictures etc will be easy and the average joe can do it. Of course I could sit here and make something really complicated that I wouldn't fucking even understand but I don't want to do that.
I want to make something like this one day so that it sends texts or emails to your phone to let you know...Hey the lights are down, or hey the PH is too low etc.

That sounds awesome! Can you do some programming and data capture with one that you would build? It would be sweet if you could plug your laptop into it and view all the data taken over the last day/week/month.

Sure that would be pretty easy and not a bad idea. I'm going to radio shack and some of my hobby stores tomorrow to start buying a few things that I don't have. I could just dump the output to a formatted text file or something to make it work with any system and easy to copy and paste.
I have several projects going on and a couple that I can shove aside for now so bear with me. I'm going to get the parts, photograph them, and try to get a thread started and stickied so that people can start their grows at around the same time and I can shut it off at a certain time...Because this project will take me a few weeks
