Im kind of split between whether I want to spend 3000$ and buy something cash and outright own it. meaning i dont have to carry insurance if i dont choose
or
getting something nicer, using like 2k as a down payment and financing. which means i have to carry full coverage insurance
im really eyeballing this BMW X5
http://www.autotrader.com/dealers/inview/detail.jsp?ct=u&car_id=261170674&dealer_id=5982013&car_year=2001&dealership_view_name=25thaveautosales&mis_search_type=both&first_record=101&sort_type=priceASC&address=85281&pager.offset=100&cardist=7475
if not ill be buying some sort of older Jeep Cherokee or a small truck

nope I think ive decided not to get it. I mean it would somewhat work given I live in Arizona. But considering the amount of backpacking and camping I do I think a bigger vehicle would be a bit more practical.
I may still get the bike. I havent decided, my parents have the bike currently so it's not going anywhere
plus i already know how to drive a car, I dont know how to ride a bike yet

Im just worried about something cheaper nickel and diming me to death. I KNOW if I get an older Jeep I will have problems with it. But I guess I dont "need" reliable transportation.

NobodyImportant said: yeah dont you need liability insurance no matter where you live ?
if you choose to drive legally.
but no one checks that shit unless you get pulled over. then you still just need to have it before you appear in court
but you cant even drive a financed car off the lot without full coverage

im going to start looking for a toyota truck. Plus im getting 4600$ now instead of 5800$ so that fucks my plans up a bit
ive decided to say fuck financing a vehicle. im just going to buy a beater and pay cash.
