I'm currently setting up my grow room for my first indoor grow... very excited!
Money is tight at the moment, and I was hoping someone could recommend me some cheap lights that I could use on a small closet shelf grow. I know I should be using HPS or MH, and I'll be able to afford it in a couple months, but I'm thinking of starting with fluorescents, then switching to HPS once my wallet can handle it. Does this sound reasonable?
Any specific lights I should get? The last thing I'd want to do is get a light that didn't even work. Might wanna just order online, unless theres a suitable fluorescent i can pick up at home depot or something (which doesnt appear to be so, looking at their online catalog)
Links would be appreciated, but any advice is helpful.
Thanks, Zip

Whats your budget?
Something like this:
http://www.growell.co.uk/p/5876/Sun-Mate-Grow-CFL-Reflector-including-complete-kits-.html
That's the best I can do right now sorry...But you get the idea from that. That's a nicer one and you could get a cheaper one but I'm too lazy at the moment. If you really can't find one I'll help you.

If your going with fluorescents from HomeDepot get T8's(about $25 with lights, two lights x 4 ft). Also get both bulbs for veg and flowering to run at the same time. Will try and look up the bulb types when I get home tonight.

Im thinking just a 4 ft cool white and a 4 ft soft white light for starters. 2pack of each for 10 bucks

Don't use those damn lights bro...Save up a little cash and get something decent that you can use for awhile. I would recommend saving up for a nice hps/mh setup but that one I posted above something similar to it will do fine. Don't be cheap...You want your girls to be happy.

While a hps light would be the best way to start for $250 to $300. $50 gets a fixtue with bulbs, timer and maybe a few pots. $25 for soil ( Ocean Forest, my choice) $45 for fert's (Fox Farm, my choice) $30 for pH up and down $? for reading pH $ for Tax
You are growing and learning
oh ya, seeds. Bag seed or from a friend.
