I just recently got into phish. I always dismissed them as crap (as they do have their fare share of crap)...but damn now that I've listened to a shit ton of phish I'll say 90% of the stuff they've made live or recorded is really really really good (especially their covers of other songs). They've made some A1 stuff.

So yeah to the OP I highly recommend phish if you haven't heard them.

The flaming lips is just amazing, anything by the beatles, the velvet under grown, Captain Beyond (they are the first super group and made two crazy ass concept albums), Anything by buffalo Springfield, 13th Floor Elevators (very psychedelic shit).

I use Reason 4, a MIDI keyboard and some basic Wave editing software.

Most of the music I've made so far is online at www.youtube.co.uk/user/psytrancedan

What about some Alan Parsons Project?  I believe he was Floyds producer turned soloist.  Best shit is all 3 of his "Edger Alan Poe" vynals.  Great shit; the Raven.  Makes me wanna trip now!!!

Also some weird shit is some Klatuu... "Mister Manson" and "Silly Boys".  You want to trip the fuck out; you listen to silly boys; then throw it into reverse; and listen to AN ENTIRE OTHER SONG.  Not just one, or two hidden messages; but a whole song can be played foreward and backward; with fully understood lyrics.  Wrap yer brain around that on a big shroom dose...

I'll have to hit up my vynal collection again and see what my parents used to trip to; great shit but the names slip me...
