after taking a huge hit and holding it in? It hasn't happened to me in a long time, but it used to quite a bit. Is it an oxygen deprivation thing from smoke inhalation?

I think it's because unlike holding your breath your heart is still using o2 to pump blood while you smoke and if you take a massive bong rip you're going to deplete your oxygen reserves trying to saturate your blood with whatever is in your lungs which happens to not be air.
I've never blacked out from smoking but friends have puked and passed out and such.

sometimes I've gotten so high that I feel really lightheaded, and then my weed paranoia kicks in and I think I'm going to pass out. Then I get all nervous and my heart starts racing, and then I realize that you literally CAN NOT pass out if you're still breathing and your heart is beating fast.
Weed makes things weird sometimes

yeah it does
our gravity bong is on the ground, and after a big hit and then instantly stading up you get really lightheaded and everything turns white.
