I like to eat what I catch unless its a little tiny guy. It makes you feel alittle more at one with nature and all.

Its looks like largemouth, but I didn't look real close, and I'm not checking again but I am assuming its largemouth until told otherwise.

yeah, 3 lbs is a pretty decent catch out of a stock tank. you shoulda seen this tank earlier in the year, it was the size of a pond. then it rained and rained and rained and now its fuckin huge. I really don't even know where all the fish came from, but i'm not complaining. I'll eat justa bout anything. Its nice to catch your own food, feels rewarding. I have a vegetable garden as well and have gotten some peas, green beans, and onions out of it so far. Gonna be a good year!

I won't even think about eating turtle now, especially some huge pre-historic snapping turtle.

What?

Turtle is great eating 7 different favors of meat.

You're missing out on a great meal.

Damn right. That is one of few animals I didn't learn to prepare when I was growing up and wish I did. It seems like I remember hearing that some parts are bad or it has to be prepared a certain way. The only I've ever had were cooked for me by someone else. You know how to prepare one stoney?

As for killing something you are not going to eat... something hungry will come along and appreciate it.

Get out and take a closer look. Aside from the little critters on the inside I often see some sort of scavenger bird getting it's fill too.
