I posted the set-up I'm using for the 65W regular light. This look all right? I am running 3 cycles for my germination, so the next 2 cycles will be using the CFL's. I was thinking about just using two(in-out) computer fans to circulate the air.
2-3" good for the CFL's, but is the reg. 65W bulb good at the distance in the pic? The grow box is 24" deep. I keep the light at 18-20" It keeps it warm, around 85f.The room is 74f
You want cfl's as close as you can get them without burning the leaves. In genteral, a couple of inches is all you need. I have 2 43w(200wequv) about 2 inches from my vegging mother. For seedlings, i'd bump it back to 3-4 inches just so you dont loose as much water from the young leaves. And a fan is always a good idea, not just for air movement, but enough air to move the leaves. this will strengthen the stalks and stems, and you wont get any where near as much sag when you flower. Variable speed is good. With the low setting it will take a week or 2 for the plant to adjust and you'll notice the leaves aren't moving any more, then just kick up to the next speed. Once you hit high on the fan, it seems to be better to have a fan that oscillates. Got to walmart, and they have a 9" variable speed, wall mountable, that oscillates for $23. Best fan for your setup. Check out my grow, and you can see the fans i use in my pics.
