yeah, why not?
I would assume it does matter what kind of fish, but I don't know which would be best. I would recommend one with good color, like tuna or salmon, as color generally indicates vitamins (for human nutrition at least)
if you wanna get really fancy buy some kelp at the local asian food market and throw some of that in there.

Anyone have experience with alaskan fish emulsion? Should you use it full strength? (1 tablespoon per gallon every 3-4 weeks) I`ve been toying with a feeding chart for organic hydroponic nutrient solution or microrationing of nutes for soil:
Apply every watering
Table 18 - Guidelines for Fertilizing Soilless Mixtures Growth Stage N P2O5 K20 Amount Seedling 5 3 4 1.5 to 2 tsp/gal Vegetative 5 2 3 -2 to 3 tsp/gal Flowering 5 5 3 -0.5 tp 1.5 tsp/gal ---------------------------------- (WARNING: DO NOT USE THESE RATIOS. THEY ARE EXPERIMENTAL AND FUZZY MATH.)
Flowering 0-10-10 -0.25 t0 0.75 tsp/gal Flowering 5-1-1 -o.5 to 1.5 tsp/gal
vegetative 5-1-1 2-3 tsp/gal. vegetative 0-10-10 2/3 to 1 tsp/gal or 1 to 1.5
maxicrop Use 10 ml (2 tsp) per gallon of water every watering.
1/2 teaspoon per gallon of water. unsulphered blak strap molasses
baking soda up lemon juicedown
source:http://www.indoormarijuanaseeds.com/growing-marijuana-indoors/nutrients-and-fertilizing.html -----------------------------------
Sorry if its a little cryptic since its my notes. Heres a pic of the 0-10-10
the notes are converting the original formula for the combined amounts of alaska 5-1-1 and 0-10-10 then adding molasses for carbo-loading and seaweed for micro-nutrients then organic ph control.
The only other additives i can think of would be epsom salt (magnesium+sulfur) but i cant figure the proper levels for constant fertilizing; and worm casting or compost tea for micro-fauna, but those contain nutrients that have to be factored.
heres a grow also using fish emulsion: "Nutes are Alaska Morbloom 0-10-10 full strength every 10 days and Alaska fish emulsion 5-1-1 med. strength every 10 days."
https://www.gardenscure.com/420/plant-nursery/90896-late-stage-flowering-problems.html
Honestly this sounds/looks like over-fertilization, to me. The directions say 3-4 weeks at full strength combined should produce a ratio of 5-11-11 for bloom. (Also both fish emuslions drop ph,durp) So WTF? is any of this useful for determining fert. regiments w alaska fish emulsion?
Any help is appreciated.

I've seen Alaskan Fish Emulsion fertilizer used at full strength with no ill side effects. Make sure your plant is old/large enough to handle it though, obviously a small plant would need less.
I've found a good schedule (atleast for soil grow) is full strength 0-5-5 AFE every two weeks in the veg period. Once flowering starts stop using 5-1-1 and use just the 0-10-10 AFE MoreBloom every two weeks until you flush at the very end. Natural/organic fertlizers have seemed to be more forgiving than chemical fertilizers, so unless you drown a small plant in potent solution, you shouldn't burn anything.
