Okay I just recently expanded my cabinet to double it's original size, and I want to put in a bigger light (moving from 250 to 400w).
Obviously I'll need better ventilation. I can't get dimensions of the cab right now, but i'm pretty certain that the 245cfm squirrel cage fan that I just bought should be quite adequate. My concern is if this fan is suitable for pairing with the Can-33 can filter. The Can-33 comes with a 6 inch flange, and I believe the squirrel cage fan comes with a 4" flange.
Can I use a reducer to hook the two up? Will the filter still work as effectively? What do you guys recommend?
Thanks
Edit: Looks like the fan comes with a 5 inch flange
I used a 130cfm squirrel cage fan and a 100cfm carbon scrubber for my smaller cab. I assumed these would be fine together... the can fan says minimum 200cfm and this fan is 245. I just dont know how a reducer would affect things.. if going from a larger 6 inch flange on the filter to a smaller 5 inch flange on the fan would cause an issue?
