 T5 and HPS together?

Hey there. I searched google and the forum search and haven't found any information about this so I thought I'd make a post. I've got a 4 bulb, 4 foot T5 light and a 400 watt HPS. I'm thinking about buying a grow tent and setting up the T5 alongside the HPS. I'm wanting to set up a perpetual harvest situation so I was thinking I could have the plants that are closer to finishing closer to the HPS and the newer plants under the T5s. Does anyone think this is a good or bad idea and for what reasons? I'm just trying to work with the lights that I've got since I don't have much money to be spending and I think it will work well.
It's a little besides the point, but I plan on using two small LED spotlights as supplemental lighting just for fun.

im curious, where did you get ur t5s? those are the lights im gettin delivered today, i ordered a 600 hps for my flowerin space amd a 4 bulb 4ft t5 fixture with 4 grow bulbs that put put 5000 LUMENS EACH (20k lumens total) how are u gonna setup a perptual harvest if your gonna have both lights in the same space?? i have a 5x5ft closest that im using for veg and a corner in that bedroom for flowering(the whole room one day may be flowerin but im startin with just one 600 hps so light is limiting my flowerin space. id love to see ur results if you end up doin both lights, keep us updated.

I ordered my T5s online from a rather cheap source (I'm not sure if we're allowed to post sources in this forum or not so I'm avoiding that unless you really want to know and PM me). What you're talking about, jrjr54321, sounds like a veg space and a flowering space. What I'm talking about is just my flowering space. I'm looking into getting a 55x55x78 inch grow tent or maybe 48x48x78 and setting up both lights in there. If we're talking lumens, the 400 watt HPS I have is 50,000 lumens and the T5s are 20,000 lumens, so 3456 lumens/sq. ft. or 4375 lumens/sq. ft. depending on the grow space size. One thought that occurred to me is that by using the two lights I think I will have better light coverage around the sides of the tent as opposed to with just one light in the middle of the tent.
Now time to test the electrical circuits to find out if the room I'm thinking will take the HPS, T5, exhaust fan, and small fan for in the grow room at once and not trip a breaker.

Well I got a tent but had to send back the covering because it came with a tear. I finally got the replacement and set everything up. I'm very happy with how the HPS and T5 seem together and with the new air-cooled reflector I just got. I am NOT, however, very happy with the tent that I got. It has light leaks galore and I'm dreading trying to light-proof those ridiculous air intake flaps at the bottom and around the zippers. At least the tent is in the basement where there's the least amount of light. Anyhow I thought I'd post a picture of the just-finished setup.
What I've got going on so far is the 400 watt HPS which leads to the ~450cfm exhaust sucking out to a carbon scrubber. Then there's the 4-bulb, 4ft. T5 with 2 blue and 2 red bulbs. That's all inside a 55x55x78" grow tent. There's three plants in there that are all very stressed, though I can't figure out why and haven't gotten any good responses from here about. There's also the cuttings I took from those plants while they were flowering which haven't sent out roots yet, but I've noticed some swelling near where the roots should be coming from.
Now if only I could find some seeds in case these cuttings fail me.
