Upsizing.. Tent questions.

Hi,
I'm planning out the details on upsizing my grow capabilities and was wanting to get some feedback.
I'm somewhat a newb when it comes to green with only a few bagseed grows.
Anyways, I'm wanting to contstruct a tent of black/white poly that's about 5ftx3ftx6ft(LxWxH). I plan on using PVC for the skeleton, pretty much like Dr. Pengiuns Grow Tent, only larger, and am wanting to actually flower plants inside of it.
For lighting, I'm wanting to stay moderately cheap but do have some resources to expend. I'm thinknig one 400w HPS for the dimensions listed above?
The ventilation is where I'm at loss. This tent will be sitting in an extra bedroom, so I would like to keep it as simple as possible and not cut a bunch of holes everywhere. Would one small muffin fan on bottom and another on the top be sufficient?
I'm going with organic soil. Either a blood and bone meal mix, or a dobule guano mix.
All help is greatly appreciated.

A 400w HPS will cover only 3x3, the other 2ft could be partitioned off for mothers and you can just use cfl's for light.

Thanks, cfl's are cheap. I use a sunblaster T5 with a 6500k bulb for mycology and it only cost 30 dollars for the whole setup.
What about ventilation, would a couple muffin fans be enough?

Ummm........... good question. WEED STINKS, unless you can skunk it up I would suggest making a carbon filter setup. I had a 400w HPS in a 20x20 crawlspace that stays about 60F at all time. When the light was on towards the end of the photo period, the temp would be 68F. HID lights are hot, you will need a vortex fan and it will allow you to filter the smell out and cool your bulb.

This thread was moved from Soil & Organic Nutrients.
Reason: Better off in general cultivation.

You are going to need a small exhaust fan. I would get a 4" inline fan. Get a smaller one. About 100cfm fan after adding the scrubber would be suitable to remove the heat You may want to consider using a wood frame or metal conduit. Its just more sturdy. A 400W that is fitted with a flange would be a good idea for heat.

Ok, so I DO need two fans, correct?
One below to bring in fresh air, and one above for exhaust.horticulturesource.com has the vortex fans and charcoal filters than attach directly to the fans. Would this be sufficient?
Also, could I just get away with a muffin fan on the bottom, then put the vortex fan up top? It seems to me if the amount of air going out is greater than the amount coming in then it would create a vacuum.
Damn it, I hate being a newb again. I half way know what I am doing in mycology, then I have to go and pick another hobby..

For a space that small you shouldn't need an intake. The exhaust will force new air in through cracks, holes, etc. I am assuming you don't have it sealed with hot glue.
For anyone buying or considering buying an intake, you'll need negative pressure (yes, a vacuum). Basically your intake cfm should be less than the exhaust. This will also help with odor leaks.
