Cannabis Consuming Critters

How big of a problem are marijuana-eating animals for the guerrilla grower? Is it necessary to have some sort of fence/ barrier or can one get by without using one? Is there a certain stage in the growing process when animals prefer to eat it or do they find it to be a desirable meal throughout the entire process?

if you leave it untreated, it will get attacked. not wipe out your garden(well maybe)but more likely a few get nibbled on a bit
you can do a lot of things tho to protect your garden. a fence of brush is a good way to camo things. dont make it an obvious brush pile though
seems to me the seedlings get eaten most by critters. deer and such will chomp on a mature plant
if i were you, id at least make a smallkine cage for them while theyre young (that is not a huge cage, its a TINY clone )
you can piss around your garden
you can spary predator urine

They sell synthetic predator uren and they also have this powder that you mix with water and spray around the garden made from egg whites that keeps the critters away.
These are from the old days of hiding in the bushes.

Every time I planted outdoors I had some sort of animal problem one way or another. Worth the little extra expense.
