so i harvested some weed today and ive herd differing opinions on this. aside from the smell taste and lighting difficulty of wet bud is there any real difference in potency between wet and dry bud?

what does drying and curing actually do to the weed? thc is there before drying and curing and its there after

Smoking wet herbs is just plain DIFFICULT. If you could just do it simply like that, everyone would. If you're too lazy to cure it properly you can just cut it up and leave it on a piece of paper and it will quickly dry out. The smoke will be harsh but the cannabinoids are still there and you can enjoy you're very own home grown bunk schwag weed.

 Funny and very true.
If you just have to smoke some of it now then go ahead and dry it in the most efficient way available to you. A quick search will bring many options. You don't want to smoke it wet. Even a proper oven quick dry is better than that. Quickly dried the bud will be harsh, off tasting and pretty lame over all but will get you stoned. Curing it will improve it in all ways and help develop your end product into it's best finish.

You can cure it real quick like in the oven but its a fucking waste and ill come slit your throat if you do it.
Drying/Curing only takes a few weeks and can take up to a couple of months. Do it right.

Curing allows time for the volatile plant chemicals like chlorophyll to break down leaving a much more smooth and tasteful smoke. I have also read that it allows the cannabinoid profile to develop fully giving you a more potent product. (I have never seen true scientific proof of the second part but it seems reasonable to me...)

some of the cannabinoids and shit are inactive when theyre wet so it is kinda pointless to smoke wet herb, u will get much higher if u let it dry. and @ mhbound u can dry it in the oven, not cure it in the oven...

I agree. I've experimented several times just to see lol.
OP- Why don't you just nuke it in pulses of 15 seconds until its dry? It works fine although it taste like grass clippings.

The second part DR is referring to I have tried myself by curing the same buds off the same plant for 3 weeks up to 2 months, and I can tell you the potency was different...Was it stronger??? I'm not sure but it was different and better IMO.
The flavor was the big thing. The bud after around 2 months was fucking amazing.

curing and drying the herb allows the THC to change from its CRUDE form into a more alkaline form. this allows your body to absorb the thc more efficiently.

i knew a Lil about curing but the more info,one can get
the better. and to the op the best choice would be to cure it.
you wouldn't buy weed that tasted like hay and had to be re-lit
every 2nd hit.so why treat your baby you grew and nurtured like that?

curing removes the sugars present in cannabis(and all plants) yielding a cleaner smoother smoke. The only way i can think of smoking wet bud is to take a bowl and stick a heatgun on it. this would vape the good stuff(thc, cbd, cbn, etc.), dry the bud, and then eventually the bud would begin to burn.

Just put it in a paper bag and out that on Your ballast all day then jar then ballast then jar. Couple days you'll have something you won't be embarrassed to share. But from what I've grown and smoked you will have dirty planty tasting weed if you don't at least air dry it right.
