How legitimate of an idea is growing legal medical bud in California? How hard is it to obtain a med license in the first place? What is the going commercial rate? What areas are the most pot friendly?
Anyone here have any experience with the system?

sounds like you havent done any research at all, you should try it.
getting a license is not hard, and the commercial rate is all subjective to quality of buds, anywhere in norcal is pot friendly (humboldt county)
if you actually want to see your buds at the local dispensary it is hard because everyone is trying to do that, so you would most like be doing patient to patient handling, and not with a dispensary.

your basically a legal drug dealer...
but you can make some extra cash if you know your shit....

Not usually. I can't really complain this time though. I'd have given up a lot more in this situation but didn't have to. It's all good.

true story -
when I was at a concert once, a security guard came up to me holding a bag of weed and said "ya down?" got high with a rent a cop.

Been there a few times over the years. It's surprising sometimes who all will get down. No. This was one very fucked up situation that could have led to years in prison. I'm not talking about it and only counting me lucky stars.

first time i saw tom petty, we had quite a few blunts rolled.
and of course we wanted to smoke one when he played mary jane's last dance.
and it turned out to be the 2nd song of the set. petty gets the crowd high at the beginning of the show, go figure.
so we spark it up, and a minute or so in, security comes over, says hey if ur gonna smoke u gotta go to the landing. smells good by the way. and just left us. so we went to the landing where all other stoners had congregated and got blitzed.
this was the hollywood bowl btw, my fav venue

last show i caught the only cool security guard was comin around warning us when the dickheads were rollin through and we just had to hit him off with nuggets and shit
