fuck yea
i left my last one on the roof of my car and it flew off on the fwy. repaired the whole thing but harddrive was corrupted and wouldnt read/write like half the fucking platters. got an identical one my dad had trashed, reformatted, reinstalled, and back in business. now just gotta download all teh shit i used to have.

dell inspiron 640m its not new, same one as my old one. this one is 1.86ghz core 2 duo / 1gb ram, mine was same model but core 2 duo 2ghz and 2gb ram, gonna swap those over to this one tomorrow.

That is some shit. I lost one not long ago so I know how you feel. Learned my lesson about backing up files finally. It wasn't the first drive that I've lost without backup. Having to replace a computer is one thing but losing all of your files and work you have put into setting everything up the way you like is a whole other thing. At least you are back in business now. I highly recommend one of those half gig or gig back up drives. They have gotten cheap now. I love mine. So do my friends. lol They like to hook up to it and steal all of my shit. lol

Laptops are the way to go. I've been free from the desk for years and couldn't imagine going back. The switch can be costly if you are into gaming. I'm not so the average $500 to $600 laptop is all of the power that I need.

That's what I told my kid about his computer. He has a 360 for games. I told him to use it and be happy that you even have a laptop. lol

my laptop i would say is still new. just got it a few weeks ago. pretty happy with it so far. i just wanna switch OS's and get rid of vista

I have Vista on this one. I didn't like it at first but I'm getting used to it. I've ran every operating system there has ever been at some point I guess so I'm used to changes. I do wish that I had set this one up with dual OSs though for a few reasons.

Just as easy setting up a single one almost. You simply partition the hard drive and install your second OS into one of the partitions.

word. i've got vista but ran a "demo" version of gOS. pretty nice and user friendly just a few things that left me a bit confused
