The first easy to grow strain that comes to mind is skunk #1. You can find packs of 10 online for as little as 20$. Skunk is a proven winner with very uniform, true breeding, characteristics. You won't be disappointed.

My honest opinion is to start off with bag seeds. Many people never get to flowering their first time, so why waste good seeds. See what you can do with bag seeds. Mind your chances of having good genetics are not that high. However, Chem Dog D started as a bag seed experiment! See if you really got the patience for growing.

if you live in california (which you loc says you do), go to a dispensary and get a couple of cuttings. hang a bunch of compact florescents in a closet, get a couple of pots and some GOOD soil (do NOT go miracle grow. go to the hydroponic shop and get your self a bag of fox farms ocean blend). if your doing this outside, wait a little, its not season yet. and dont put your clones directly outside when the time comes. its good to harden them off first

I started with White Widow and Hawaiian Indica. The WW came from BuyDutchSeeds.com. Bomb Smoke, Crystal buds, Hearty and resistant. I fucked up so many time with WW trying to learn to grow and never lost a plant. Clone success rate up around 90%. Hawaiian was unfortunately a clone I came by and it is no longer available to me . That was bomb, fruity shit but fussy as hell. I like the seedbank though. Seems to have quality genetics and havent had any problem with shipping so far.
