After a frustrating flurry of DEA medical marijuana raids in the Los Angeles area this week, a spokesman for President Obama has reaffirmed his intent to end such attacks on state medical marijuana laws. Story originally appearing in Thursday's Washington Times.
Quote: “The president believes that federal resources should not be used to circumvent state laws, and as he continues to appoint senior leadership to fill out the ranks of the federal government, he expects them to review their policies with that in mind,” White House spokesman Nick Shapiro said.

his last line was one of the best. It is a shame he felt compelled to apologize like a criminal for relaxing with a substance that is safer than a beer. When asked about the gateway theory I was surprised he didn't mention that criminalization causes the only gateway effect.
