My Buddy and I are guna make hash oil. we have looked and looked for 3X distilled butane but, no luck. we are curious if we could use compressed liquid O2 to extract the THC seeing as how its the cold from the compressed butane that is needed. will this work?

It is absolutely not the cold that is needed to dissolve THC. In order to extract the chemicals that you want you need to use a strong organic solvent such as butane, hexane, alcohol, or chloroform; not O2.

good luck getting your hands on O2 anyway, regardless of what you're doing with it. the storage is a nightmare

i have no problems getting co2! me and my buddies used to have a paintball team and we competed quite about, i found it was WAY cheaper to fill our own bottles then to go to the paintball shop and have them do it. i was able to fill my 100 lbs cylinder for around 35 bucks, no license required, hell i didnt even need a drivers license! it may be different where you are, but i got my tank filled at the local fire dept

okay... THC's chemical formula is C21H30O2. It is an organic oil, or a type of lipid.
Another type of lipid mixtures are olive oils or cooking oils.
Pure oxygen + any fat/lipid/hydrocarbon = bookoo energy + H20 + CO2 + other byproducts from incomplete combustion
I have seen a video of a small amount of liquid oxygen poured onto a lit candle...and the candle explodes very violently. I imagine trying to soak a resin/lipid containing cellulose-based herb in liquid or supercritical O2 would be extremely dangerous.
Also, Oxygen becomes toxic at partial pressures exceeding 50 kPa, or 50% by volume in the room you are working...not to mention that everything in the general area where the air is enriched with O2 becomes much more flammable.
