First grow, Some questions.

Planning a first grow and I am thinking about the logistics.
Theres only going to have a closet at my disposal, with no windows, only a door.
I am planning on having one 250w light for one, maybe two plants.
I have no way of building a duct system to control air conditioning on the bulb, no heat drainage.
Will a 250w need to be ventilated? Could I possibly run two 250ws if I had the space?
Thanks for the advice.

Yeah it should be venhilated. Anything other than fluorescents should have some air or venhilation of some sort. Could just be a fan draft (which is also necissary for a good garden anyways). As far as the light, it all depends on how large your area is. You could deffinitly run a 250w, but two might be pushing it depending on room. Also instead of getting two 250w, it would be better (and cheaper) to get a single 400w IMO.

You will absolutely need ventilation of some sort, even if using only fluorescents.

With no access to outside air from the room, and no vent, will a strong fan be sufficient?
I plan on opening the door to the room for a couple of hours a day so the plants can receive fresh air.
I just do not want the bulb to get dangerously hot.
In consideration of the previous poster, I think I will change my set up to one, 400w.
I think with the addition of the reflective paper that I will be lining the room with, a 400 will be enough for two plants. Again, this is my first grow so tell me if I am wrong to assume this.
I know that it is important to know the dimensions of the room but I have no access to those numbers right now, for the sake of this thread, lets assume that this room is 5x6.

A 5x6 room you could probably get away with opening the door periodically. However something to consider would be to get some metal vents and cut squares into your door to fit the vents. Since the vents are angled, light can't be seen straight on from outside. You could even position another fan blowing out the vent so you could suck the air out and have some venhilation. Ofcourse the air might become smelly at some point

IMO, if you're not running an extractor fan on ANY type of HID light, your room will become way too hot to sustain proper plant growth and your grow will suffer greatly.
There's no way for you to cut a small hole in the ceiling of the grow to vent the hot air out?
Also, if you want to get an idea of how hot things can get and you already have your light. Set it up in the room, throw in a thermometer, and run the light. You'd be surprised at how quickly the room will hit 90-100 degrees with no ventilation.
