Please everybody go and sign this petition. They are trying to introduce laws for noise control on live events.
I say fuck the government. You go to a gig to experience loud music. If you wanted it quiet you'd stay at home with the CD.
No Noise Control.

the people complaining about the noise should get fined. since the venue more than likely is contributing more money than the said person

It wasn't that bit i was referring to.
I'd like to know how my post makes me look stupid. Given that the laws exist in the UNITED STATES and my post was relevant to the UNITED KINGDOM!

When I worked at HOB in dallas I had to walk around the outside of the building with all the PA's on inside and test the decibel level. This event took place with a few of the cities enforcement agents so that we could prove that violating the noise ordinaces wasn't possible.
From what I understand this is similar to what all venues have to do in order to be able to hold concerts.

I don't think this is noise control as in stopping the outside noise though. This would require ALL venues to have a device fitted to cut the volume should it peak over what the government consider safe.
This would mean clubs, bars, music venues, etc... would all have these devices fitted. No more bangin raves, no more big loud rock shows.
It's more of a "we know whats best for you" thing where they are trying to protect the general public. End of the day you go to a club or a gig to hear loud music. You understand the risk when you enter and it's a concious decision to enter so i don't see why they have to interfere.

already here, get used to it. besides most places already have these devices for insurance purposes. Seeing as insurance is alot cheaper for a club that isn't going to bust the eardrums of its' customers.

Clubs and venues I've been to have never had these devices. You can basically push it till it blows. Some PA's come with built it cut off's, but thats purely to protect the equipment.
Things may be different in the US, but it's not something that seems to take place over here.
