Anyone ever read anything by him?
I have a friend who has only read his poetry, but I have only read one of his books and am currently on "The Dharma Bums".
After reading "On the Road" a couple years earlier I wasn't sure what to think about his writing, but after starting this second book, it's brilliant.
It takes off where he left off in On the Road. It seemed like he had a psychedelic experience at the end of On the Road, something similar to Buddhist enlightenment. In this second book he has returned to California from Mexico and follow Buddhist values.
His writing style is very "spontaneous" (as they call it) and keeps you interested in their poetic/spiritual lifestyle of traveling the land with rucksacks.
I recommend this to people who read, which might not be many of you.
