Food for thought! *WARNING RELIGIOUS THOUGHTS INSIDE*
    #64265 - 06/22/08 11:52 PM (16 years, 5 months ago)

I was sitting at the beach today with some of my younger cousins from out of town and these three kids around 17-19 came up to us and said "can we ask you a question, we are just going around asking people a question. I said sure and they said "what happens to you when you die?" I told them im agnostic and don't really believe anything specifically i just try to be spiritual and didn't believe in "god" or the bible as a scripture. They then told me that " yeah we hate how some people in Christianity just try to force there ideas on you.' I agreed and we started talking about our religions and then it came to them and they preached " Yeah well im a DEVOUT catholic" and that we should all " Love Jesus" i was just stunned and the amount of bullshit that they were trying to pull. Then they kept going on and on about I should love Jesus and he "Died for my sins" it was just ridiculous. So i light a cigarette and thought "Damn that's a sick idea."  I asked " If your catholic and its a unforgivable sin to kill yourself intentionally. How can people that smoke cigarette's today be committing a unforgivable sin. We now know without a dought that if you smoke cigarettes over a long period of time you will die directly from those cigarettes. They had no real answer, so we left.

End of that story

Thought i would ask y'all the same questions and see what you thought.

Is smoking a cigarette a mortal sin ?

Sorry for the bullshit story billed up im pretty baked of some dank ill post a pic later on. I really cant believe i wrote that much but its there hopefully someone will actually read this far.

2 Points to anyone that reads this when i get enough posts. lol

See, that term pedo gets thrown around a lot.
Is a 16 year old guy having sex w/a 16 year old girl a pedophile?
If not, then how is a 30 year old considered a pedophile for doing the same thing?
I think y'all need to look up the definition for pedophile.

Smoking cigarettes is pretty much slow suicide to me.

Whether or not suicide may be a 'mortal sin' according to whatever beliefs you follow, I don't know......but yeah I think it pretty much would be, imo.

i think it's a little silly. recently, i read a news article by some medical experts that believe high calories leads to a faster death. that eating less will actually make you live longer. so eating in excess = mortal sin? that's the same line of thinking as your cigarette argument. really there are probably many choices we take daily that may lead to a faster death.

but no gods, no masters for me.

I've fallen into this trap myself, freepain. Two kids came up to my friends and I and asked if we would take part in a survey. I was reluctant, but we decided to do it.

We had to pick out cards of pictures about what we thought life would be like in ten years, what represented family, and  what God is to us.

Like you freepain, I told them I was agnostic and that I don't follow one specific creed (although I consider myself Zen Buddhist now) and then they got all gungho Jesus on us and asked us to pray. Both of my friends are Christians and even they denied.

On the bright side, at least they weren't scientologists.  :cuckoo:

There is no such thing as morality it is all subjective.  One person feels that god told him to blow up an abortion clinic another views killing as wrong all together.

Right and wrong don't exist they are just means of control to keep people from killing each other and raping and stealing from each other which is natural when trying to live so close to and have nonstop contact with other animals.

idk I think deep down humans know that harming another is wrong, with the exception of serial killers and other individuals with mental disorders.  If they thought killing was ok I doubt we would need all these justifications for it.

Oh I know most people feel killing is wrong but I believe it was because it is so deeply ingrained in us from birth that violence fighting and killing alike are wrong.

I just don't believe there is a natural part of us that feels empathy for each other, I think it's all programmed, but hell even I am a victim of that programming I would never rape and would only kill if necessary but I do steal.

Religion is all bullshit that gives all systems of ethics and spirituality a bad name.

And their outfits are all stupid too.

And jesus was just tripping. Try actually reading the bible and tell me that shit was NOT written by someone under the influence of a hallucinogenic substance.

Everything you do makes you older and puts you one step closer to death.

From the moment you're born, you start dying.

Living IS suicide. God hates us.

Enjoy your day!
