I would use a weapon.. unless you're shit kicking skills are far more superior. You should completely embarass someone when you shit kick them and it's personal. I suggest using a heavy belt buckle as a whip or perhaps a wooden dowel or golf club. Remember this is about making him feel fear not about you being a bitch for using a weapon.
When he's on the ground theres tons of stuff you can do to him without kicking his face in. You could pee or poo on him personally I would kick him in the tail bone repeatedly. Try to come down with a stomping motion every time his ass leaves the ground that way it hurts him a lot more.

using a weapon can get you attempted murder if you take it far enough at the least assault with a deadly weapon, or felonious assault which is 6 years. I should know not from personal experience but watch what you do.

personally I wouldn't use a weapon as I'm confident I could squash any of my friends with an exception to some of my MMA enthusiast friends(they're cool though and have sexy ass girlfriends)
I'm also usually not very worried about someone going to the police in such a situation but maybe I'm just stupid.
However there are times to ignore such risks and to show someone they live in your world and you are infact bigger than them. Taking any attack on a person too far can get you MURDER or attempted murder or at least aggrevated assault(IF TAKEN TOO FAR)
