This may help out noobs and vets alike in setting up rooms.the equation is figuring out how many amps your using.basically you take the number of watts your using divide it by 120(volts)(no matter how many watts your using you always divide by 120).So if you want to hook up say 2 600 watt lamps, youll be using 1200 watts total so youll be using 10 amps.If your running off a 15 amp fuse youll be fine,But no more than that you want I think5 amps of padding.I hope someone finds this helpful.

The electricians 2/3 rule: Only use two thirds of the total available power to avoid setting the house on fire.

well I would think you have a seperate breaker box for your apartment.I would go ask the landlord where it is and if you can access it.

It should be labled room to room.If not then turn a radio on in each room, then turn off each breaker individually, when you here the radio turn off then you know what room that braeker controlls.then the switch should say 15 or 20 amp.figure out what all in the room is running off the breaker(lights ,fan,elec.outlets.then see how much you have left over for your equipment.I hope that makes sense.
