yeah i figured that one out myself. pillaged some guy with tons of shit and barely got anything. pretty lame.
its cool though i've got wine and marble colonies now. gonna get a sulfur one eventually.

sulfur should be the last priority, it is always the cheapest resource. I could actually send you some if you like, I have some to spare

i'm good, you've helped me out enough 
it will be a long time before i get a sulfur colony.
just for wood alone i would need about 80,000
can't even hold that much yet LOL

Also
If you are attacking someone who has navy ships or is currently having their port blockaded, then your troops will be unable to attack and will turn around once they arrive there
This does not apply to attacks done on your own island.

I sent in a blockade (they are SO damn slow compared to the army units) and it'll arrive 4 minutes before the attack begins.

Are you using spies at all to spy out you opponent before you launch attacks? It isnt very important early, but once you start planning bigger attacks you will want a good idea of what you are fighting against first

Yeah I havent even started to build a navy yet. I was waiting until I got my 5 towns developed. They really only come in handy for an aggressor. As long as your land defense is strong then no one will fuck with you
