Those were Marines in that video, not soldiers.
I completely lost my head when i read some of these comments.
No offense to anybody, But this liberal dreamworld that so many
seem to live in today is all BS. Those Marines were doing EXACTLY
what they were taught to do. And Anyone here who thinks they just
picked those people out of a crowd and started beating them, it's
time for a reality check. Iraqis are never detained without a just
cause. Those people were either caught doing something or were
planning an attack on Americans. Everyone who feels pity for them
should really step back and look at the whole picture, not just a
2 minute video clip. When is the last time anyone here has been in
Iraq? When was the last time any of you even talked with an Iraqi?
These are the same people that execute raped women, just because
they were raped. The same that burned America's flag before we even
went into their country. The same people that tied the bodies of
American soldiers to the back of their cars and dragged them through
their city streets. But people here think a mild beating is
outrageous. It's really sad to think that people would rather protect
someone they'll never meet rather than a fellow citizen.

I used to be a soldier. I hated it. Even though I never went to Iraq, my unit is going to soon. My job would've kept me on the bases most of the time, but I became an unofficial conscientious objector while in. I even wrote most of the application. I refuse to support the killing of civilians. Due to that and some other problems, I went AWOL for 2 months. After that, I turned myself in and got a summarized court marshal. I was given a month of hard labor because the application was known and I have mental health documentation. A total of 5 months of being treated like shit by almost every NCO and then I they handed me my discharge papers. Got the second highest discharge.
Was it worth it? Totally.

The sole purpose of the two wars being waged in the middle east now is to pump money into the miliatry industrial complex and the rich fucks that run those companies that make $30 million planes, tanks, $10mil bombs, advanced weapon systems, and all that shit. They do not give a fuck about any US citizen or keeping America "safe," they want to line their pockets with as many tax dollars as possible until the people refuse to take it any longer. There is no legitimate purpose for these wars that I can see. If the Bush regmine really gave a fuck about protecting America, they would protect us HERE, not in the middle east.
