gargle/ rinse mouth with warm salt water or mouthwash to prevent the spread of bacteria.
Also do you eat any dairy products, like milk or yogurt, it also creates phlegm and bacteria...that's all I can think of now...

anna's right. try use sea salt.

i find chopping up a whole garlic then consuming it (any way possible) does the job at fixin me up when it comes to colds and flus.
also, swallow soem cloves.

also, you wanna be drinking lots of lemon teas.. and water all the time..
get your immune system up
