Banana, do you have an army? They cost gold to keep, called an upkeep. Also, if you have too many people collecting lumber, researching, or collecting your isands resource, you will lose gold. Maybe thats whats going on.

Yea, when I got real poor they took back some slingers...even though I don't even remember recruiting them....anywho, I am gaining it back now...hopefully...I think I just had a really expensive upkeep.
OKAY I am dead serious about Skype....its cool and I happen to have Skype...and I lack English speaking contacts who aren't obsessed with WoW.
