I say just SOG or ScrOG it up. Barring that my next suggestion would be "forest style". Like a SOG but let them veg for longer and try to have the light at max height when the finish .

I can't wait to see how this flowering room of yours turns out, man. You're living the dream!
A stadium grow would definitely be interesting. I'd personally go with square meter tables with a 600 watt for each, different tables for different strains, and have a perpetual thing going on, but you're growing for medical patients, and I'm sure you'll use your space much more effectively, as far as yield is concerned, with a stadium grow. You'll still be keeping it perpetual though, right?
Do you have more information on what direction you'll be going in, as far as lighting, etc. is concerned? Air conditioning would be a must, CO2 would be very interesting (although I'm sure there is plenty outdoors in California ).... Anyways, I don't have much to say on it but that I'm very intrigued to see what you're going to do with this, and I'm very glad that you've chosen to contribute to the Growery!

Sirius, Here's three factors I figured out:
This will be a perpetual grow, aiming at 1 lb/week.
This will be a SCROG.
There will be a CO2 Gen. (there are tons of co2 in cali, but there is still not enuf co2 in the world for my plants, do you know how much co2 was in our atmosphere back in the day when plants were on steroids?, exactly)
Lighting is decided, just not purchased. Will be 6x600 HPS with HydroFarm 6" hoods (best spread combo).
Lights will have own venting/ducting.
Room will have AC conditioner. Both rez's will have chillers.
The closet will be similar to this one now.
I'll be looking at houses today, peace!

Ahh, I dig your style, especially with the going with the 600 watt HPS instead of the 1000 watt. Since you're saying it will be a scrog, yet perpetual, I'm assuming you'll have more than one operating... how many different scrogs will there be, and what size are we talking? My comment about CO2 was a joke, of course, but it'll be interesting to see how your plants respond to the enhancement.

what about using three 4'x8' ebb and flow tables? running either 1 or two separate screens per table, putting 2 of the 600w lights over each table (on movers maybe?). 1 res per table. might be a tight fit but if the room is a little bigger than 10x12 it seems like it would be a good fit. you would have your choice of mediums but ebb and flow seems like it would be the least headaches because you can just swap rockwool blocks (or whatever) out which you'd be doing quite a bit at 1lb a week. i think someone over on icmag had a setup similar to this (at least the part about two 600w lights over 4x8 tables) and was pulling slightly over 3lbs per table in a SOG.
so if you ran 2 screens per table, total 3 tables, and managed to get a consistent 6 week flowering plant, you'd pull something like 1.5lbs per week and have a constant rotation going? i think my math is right here...
not that i know anything abbout this, but i read a lot

Are you going to be using a medium to support besides jut rockwool cubes? Cause pot roots have a habit of growing into ALL the nooks and crannies of mediums. So not only do you have to take the rockwool cube out you have to take out the medium and ferret out all the little roots that have invaded it .

Seems like DWC would be a bad choice for a perpetual harvest, since roots would be tangled up in teh system and have to be cleaned out of buckets every week....
what systems besides ebb and flow allow plants to go in and out of the system without affecting anything other than the plant itself and the disposable medium?

here's another thought: does weekly harvesting mean that you have to veg plants for however long their flowering period is? seems like you have to replace at the rate you harvest you wouldnt get a consistent harvest cycle

I would assume that one would be using one bucket for each plant with DWC. That's how I've always seen it done, although I'm sure its possible to make one big tank with different plants sharing it. Regardless, he also referred to his intention of going scrog, so I would only assume that different scrogs would be started at different times, which wouldn't make DWC a bad choice for perpetual harvest even if he would be keeping different plants in the same tank....

no i understand, but if he re uses the hydroton / netpots / buckets each time, that means that on a weekly basis it wouldnt just be a matter of throwing away the plant and medium (as in a rockwool/ebb flow setup). he'd have to pull the plant, clean out the roots from the hydroton and dwc system, and replant another plant. that was my thought.
also if my more recent post was right and veg time is going to be equal to flower time (due to cycling out and having a weekly harvest), wouldnt dwc be ill advised since it is so great at fast growth? if veg time has to be long, seems like you'd want veg growth to be on the slower side.

I'm sure its not too difficult to pull the roots out of a bucket and spray the bucket out a bit. Easily handling the hydroton matter would be to have more that is ready to use, which would then give time to prepare the hydroton that was just used throughout the week.

I'm sure that, if he were growing with DWC, he would use a timing for cycles that best suited the method of growth and not your idea of what he might be planning to do.

Loving the Activism guys!
Update:
-Genes en route (Props 2 Oaksterdam)
-Schedule PUSHED SOONER THAN LATER? (I thought it was supposed to be the other way around)
-6k Cash in hand, 24 MOTHER FUCKING HOURS TO SET THIS BITCH UP!
I will be alive and sleeping on this setup the next 24 hours, and will be online for the next 12 of it, so KEEP UP!
I am loving all the ideas and concerns of what setup I will be going...
yellownotepad: I like the concept of ebb & flow, just not using rockwool as the sole grow medium.
So to make this a perpetual grow and get the benefits of scrog, I am looking at one choice..
SOG and pushing back the demand of harvest from every week to every 2 weeks. And yes, to keep up the perpetualness, I will have to clone and veg prior to harvest. But the rotation is easy, and one of the best concepts in growing, in my preference.
Circle cropping was revolutionary back in the day.
Now it's all about Cali Perpetual Grows!
Time to get to the drawing board.
Receiving measurements right now.
WILL POST IN 15 MIN!

The Dimensions:
Flower Room: 6'x10'
Veggie Room: 3'x10'
For the method, I think im going to dictator this one to DWC and use ebb&flow w/ cannacoco for the next room!
Decided to keep it perpetual with 2 rooms instead of one and less maintenance per room to keep it with rotation.
Flowering Room 48 Buckets (Divided into 2 growth stages) Controller Bucket
Veggin Room DWC Mothers (Individual)
On my way to the store.
Will def. take a pic of the hardware for you all to splooge on.
I be laboring the day away. Post tonite. Clones

Well, I couldn't make up my mind whether to go DWC or ebb n flow.
So I am doing a modified ebb and flow called ebb and grow!
So Basically I have 32 pots, in 4 rows of 8. They all come to one controller bucket. This bucket fills up 4 times throughout the day to fill up the buckets until they are soaked, then empties them. They go back into the rez. All the water is dumped back into the rez during the flush cycle, which makes it easy to monitor and change all your plant's water from how every many rez's you need.
Each pot is 3 1/2 gallons and actually has another 3 1/2 gallon pot below it. There are several holes punctured in the bucket sitting on top of this two bucket system.
For this room, there will be one 600w and one 1000w hortilux bulbs. One 4x4 section for teh 600, and another 4x4 section for the 1000.
There will be 3 fucking intakes!
One connected straight from a heater with a constant closed damper, that only opens when drops below set temp!
One coming straight from outside. (w/backdraft damper)
One for the lights.
Wow..ultimate control!
So the heating damper, will be hooked to my nice lil electrical box.
I bought a C02/temp/humidity controller and a light controller. Each on its own circuit with it's own breaker.
C02? Yes, I am mounting a C02 Gen-1E up on the wall.
So the ducting will go throught the lights from the outside and meet up with a Y before it hits the fan. The other side of the Y will be a open damper followed by a fat ass carbon filter. Then they hit the fan, go through a silencer, then finally exit on the other side of the room.
This room is genius, and my mind is tired from doing all this work today. SO here is a sneak peak, just drafted it, time for sleep.

You're absolutely nuts man, I love it.
So you'll be running 1600 watts per every 4x4 section, complete with CO2? You're going to have one dense jungle in there, hopefully the plants don't come alive and smoke you.

I hope to be in action on Wed.
I'll make a new thread for this grow. Check the diaries section.
Looking at 16 AK47's, 16 Bubba Kush
PICS on wed. The setup is really coming along now.
The veggie room will be inside suspended from ceiling.
