From what ive read if i get about a kilo of poppy pods and stems grind them up some ( but not to a powder) then let simmer in a low temp for a long time (day or so) i will have activated the alkoloids and then can take the juice and let that dry out (say on a pan in the sun) and scrap that up and smoke( might be to sticky at that point idk). Would this be a possible poor mans tek ?

nah man that is way to complecated it would probably work but there is a much easier way.
to make pod goo the easy way and it only takes less than an hour from start to finish.
just take as many pods as you would get from a nice nod if you make tea out of them. grind up pods and make tea like you normally would. strain the tea like you normally would, get all the solid material out of that shit.
get out a stainless steel metal pan, dump your strained tea in the pan, and boil the tea at a pretty high heat till it gets pretty low. Then turn the heat as low as it can possibly go and wait till it starts to become the consistancy of goo, and start scraping with a sharp knife.
usually you will not get all of it in ur first scraping so take a spray bottle and put it on mist mode and give it one or 2 good mists. scrape the goo of again, put heat to it if u added too much water. you may have to repeat this several times to get most of the goo out.
this is the only way i deal with pods anymore. i know this works because I was getting a nice nod from just 5 big pods using this method just last week.

oh didnt see you wanted to smoke the stuff. no you cant smoke pod goo you can only eat it.
