there really isn't any unnecessary wiring or anything mostly wires that just need to be moved out of the way
plus off to the side there's a fan blowing to keep the heat from escalating. but any suggestions to PREVENT a fire, would be most appreciated lol

suggestion: don't use cardboard boxes to house your grow-op

that's why i moved the potted plants out of the boxes the seedlings are (maybe) getting transplanted tonight, then the boxes are getting tossed aside i admit though, there was a little TOO much heat generating from the cardboard
you think that reflector should be tossed too?

yeah i'd go with a metal reflector myself. better to be safe than sorry.
you start a little fire... house burns down or fire department comes... either way is bad.
i'm no expert. sorry i can't help more.

I'd wait to transplant until they are really ready for it. They look too small to have roots growing on the edges and bottom of those cups.... is there a way you can peek down along the side to see or something?
Also, do you have drainage holes on those cups?

i waited to repot them. i guess i'm rushing things too fast and yes, the cups have holes at the bottom

Yeah man for sure go with something metal around the lights
At least you got some good seeds to mess around with.

well most of them are bagseeds and i have quite a few left over
and i totall agree with the light reflector but unfortunately money's very short and i can't find anything around the house to use for a metal reflector

Go by construction sites and see what they have thrown in the garbage. Sometimes you can find a some pretty big sheets of metal with dents in them.

As long as the reflector isn't getting hot (touch it and see), I don't see how the CFL would get any hotter at some other point in time, so, while the concern for fire hazard is a good one to have, there shouldn't be any problem, as long as it isn't secured properly and falls onto the bulb later or something. I'm sure it'll work fine...

alright the reflector isn't hot at all, so i think i'll just keep it.
seeing that my clones are showing great signs of new growth should i keep them under a light cycle of 18/6? or can i put them under 24/0?

They'll show even greater signs of new growth underneath 24/0, because they'll have more light to photosynthesize, thus more energy to grow. Also, they won't stretch as much in search of the light that they aren't getting under 18/6, so you'll have shorter space between internodes and a more compact plant that, not only will use your space better, but will fill up with more buds...

alright so i put all the plants under 24/0 and i set them all in the windowsill to get some sun, then one of the clones all of a sudden ended up getting the life sucked out of it within an hour the entire plant was wilted and all the leaves curled in and almost died at first i thought it was from the heat of the sun on the soil, but the other plants were fine the entire bottom of the stem has turned dark brown, and not as strong/thick as it used to be.
i gave it water, now some of the leaves are starting to reach for the light again. that really scared me, but what do you think the problem was? do you need pics for a mental image of what i'm talking about?

It looks like it got fried from not having enough water in the leaves, or something.
