Yesterday I was blazing with some friends, and then one dude spent like 10 minutes detailing the plot of some fucked up movie (based on a true story) where some fucked-up mother and the neighborhood kids slowly torture her daughter to death over the course of several months.
We're all just like WTF? Why would you watch that movie, much less describe it to us in such detail? And he laughs and say "Yeah, everyone who I;ve told says that" like it's some joke. Seriously, WTF???

completely offtopic, but do you know if A. Shulgin is planning to write another book? I have Tihkal and Pihkal but someone had told me he was working on another, you seem the someone who would know

lol, yeah i wouldnt go into detail like that, i hate it when people lay some heavy shit on me while i'm stoned out of my mind, but watching 28 Weeks Later really high with surround sound and no lights is pretty fun. shits fucking intense.

I've heard he was working on a new one (don't recall the source of that at the moment, but I think it was supposed to be called the Psychedelic Index or something like that... haven't heard anything new about it in a few years). I still haven't checked out The Simple Plant Isoquinolines yet (it's not in the style of PiHKAL/TiHKAL, but I'm sure it provides food for thought fot the chemically minded)

I havent even heard about "The Simple Plant Isoquinolines" but as you said, if its written by Alexander Shulgin it should be pretty informative. Im still no where close to being finished with Pihkal

The first half of PiHKAL was a pretty interesting insight into where Shulgin's coming from, and the first half of TiHKAL had some pretty interesting vignettes. Personally I find the second halves of the books to be much more crunchy and interesting, but that could just be my chemical bias.

Im quite enjoying the novel part. I think the chemistry would be way over my head in the second part but I think I will still enjoy reading his experiences with the different substances and attempting to make sense of some of the synths.
